KATHMANDU: The seventh national agriculture census has begun from today. As per the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), 5,200 enumerators and 1,300 supervisors have been deployed for the census.
They will visit the houses of 350,000 farmers in 753 local units across 77 districts and collect details about agricultural activities, says Hemraj Regmi, the deputy director-general at the CBS.
The agriculture census, which is carried every 10 years, will be completed in 45 days and will collect collect details about livestock farming, crops and fishery done by the farmers.
