KATHMANDU: Two days long ‘Women-Led Haat Bazaar’, also known as open-air market, has been successfully organized and completed at Maya Manor Boutique Hotel, Hattisar. The event started and ended on March 5 and 6 respectively. There were altogether 40 stalls owned by women entrepreneurs in the Haat Bazaar, all of which were running from 1 pm till 7 in the evening.
Along with Tourism Entrepreneur Trishagni Shakya, Bishesta Shrestha and Nima Sherpa Manandhar, directors of The Park Bazaar, have been conducting Haat Bazaar since three years.
Organized with the goal plan of Women Business Promotion, Haat Bazaar of this year displayed stalls from women-centric sellers like Kaasya which has its ornaments produced by differently abled and trafficking survivor women,
Mithila House with its Mithila artwork pieces, Dhwa: which manufactures Dhaka clothes specifically made for domestic animals, Mitho Dairy with its stall of flavoured yoghurt, Rays & Nuts and many more.
Organized in the context of upcoming International Women’s Day, Organizer Trishagni Shakya has spoken about the two-day long Haat Bazaar having hearty participation of younger generations from its first day itself.
She further highlighted that March, being the historic month for all women, had inspired their organizing of Women-Led Haat Bazaar in this very month of the year.
Haat Bazaar, which has been estimated to have around one thousand onlookers, also had Investing Workshop and Bra Making Workshop organized in the market.
“The investing101 workshop organised by the ‘Investing with Grace’ team has been centred around advocating financial literacy to women, it highlights investing opportunities and challenges from a gender perspective whilst also building a network for women who invest in Nepal”, said Ms. Grace Rauniyar, the Facilitator of the Workshop & Co-Founder of Investing with Grace.
The second day of programme, which was on Sunday, also had enacted poetry performance related to womanhood as stated by Ms. Bishesta Shrestha.
