KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Energy Secretary-Level Joint Steering Committee (JSC) meeting postponed since last two years has kicked off in Kathmandu today.
The representatives of the two nations had previously held a meeting in Bangalore, India, two years ago. The two countries had agreed to hold the meeting every six months. However, the meeting had been postponed after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Despite the pandemic, Nepal had repeatedly urged India to convene the meeting. However, India had been reluctant to hold the meeting, citing the reason of Covid-19. India proposed resuming the meeting amid declining risk of Covid-19.
