KATHMANDU: Incumbent Sher Bahadur Deuba is highly likely to win the Nepali Congress presidency as Prakash Man Singh and Bimalendra Nidhi* extended their support to him.
As no one secured majority votes in the election for the next party president held on Monday, Deuba and his closest contestant Shekhar Koirala are vying for the top position in the run-off to be held later today.
Following the announcement of the results, both Deuba and Koirala had sought Singh and Nidhi’s support as they emerged the kingmakers.
In response to Deuba, Singh said he and his cadres would help Deuba as he has more votes than Koirala, meaning Deuba is more liked by the cadres than Koirala.
In addition, Singh also said Deuba has committed to correcting his working style.
