KATHMANDU: Buddha Air is planning to add small and large aircraft to strengthen its presence in the Nepali aviation market.
As per the airline company, addition of aircraft primarily intends to increase flights to Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) routes across the country including Manthali in East, Pokhara in west and Nepalgunj in Far West.
The company has unveilled its plan to procure 10 Twin Otter aircraft by 2026 and expand its business in the country.
Dipendra Karn, communication manager at Buddha Air informed that the company is adding flights to different routes including to and from Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Bhairawaha, Bharatpur. “Since the beginning of 2022, we are preparing to provide safe accessible flights with the new modern aircraft in the remote areas,” he said.
Meanwhile, Buddha Air, which occupies a total of 55 percent share in domestic aviation industry, is also planning to buy three ATR-72 aircraft in future.
