KATHMANDU: A study by Nepal Rastra Bank has shown that the price of real estate is increasing by 26.45 percent annually.
According to the National Housing Price Index released by the NRB, the average annual real estate inflation is 26.45 percent in the fiscal year 2076-77 based on the data obtained from commercial banks. However, such inflation was 19.73 percent in 2076-77 as compared to 2075-76, as per statistics of the Land Revenue Office.
Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari unveiled the report today amid a function organized by the central bank. Prakash Shrestha, Head of Research Department of NRB, informed that a report on real estate prices would be made public every three months. NRB will make public the report based on the Fiscal Year 2075-76. Accordingly, the value of real estate has increased by 26.45 percent in the fiscal year 2076-77.
The central bank had carried a real estate survey in 20 districts across the country.
