KATHMANDU: Representatives of the private sector, Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), have urged the government to complete ratification process of the MCC Compact from the Parliament as soon as possible.
Issuing a joint-statement today, three umbrella bodies representing the private sector, said that implementation of the MCC Compact is inevitable for export of domestic energy and technology transfer opportunities.
“As the economy is shattered by the Covid-19 pandemic, adequate foreign investment and support is crucial. Implementation of MCC Compact and projects within the Compact will ensure economic benefit to the country,” reads the joint-statement, adding, “The government, parliamentarians, civil society and other stakeholders should put collective efforts to implement the Compact.”
