KATHMANDU: With the vaccination campaign as the first priority of government, 40 per cent of people in the Kathmandu Valley have already received both doses of vaccine.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), among the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley, 41 per cent have received vaccine against COVID-19 in Kathmandu, 38 per cent in Lalitpur and 41 per cent in Bhaktapur. Similarly, 29 per cent of people in Bagmati Province have received both doses of vaccine against COVID-19, so far.
According to the MoHP, 6,262,780 people across the nation have taken their first dose of vaccine and 5,752,853 people have been fully vaccinated, so far. As per the update of MoHP, in total, 156,018 doses of vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.
With the aim of providing vaccine against COVID-19 to 33 per cent of population by mid-October, the government is conducting nationwide vaccination campaign effectively. Prime Minister Deuba had already directed concerned authorities for making necessary arrangements to vaccinate all the targeted citizens by mid-April next year.
Meanwhile, according to our Bara correspondent, more than 800,000 people of Province 2 received vaccine against COVID-19.
