KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Raj Kumar Chhetri as the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the regulatory body of the country’s aviation sector.
Chhetri was given the responsibility on the basis of seniority after the immediate DG Rajan Pokharel resigned Tuesday evening, two days before the end of his term. Chhetri will serve CAAN as its director general for the next three months before he eventually retires.
Chhetri has more than three decades of experience in the aviation sector. He has already served as CAAN’s spokesperson and general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport.
