KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Tamakoshi Hydropower Company and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for loan investment in the 99.8 MW Tamakoshi-V Hydropower Project in Dolakha.

The MoU agreement was inked on Sunday at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

The project will have a total investment of Rs 16.19 billion . Of the total investment, EPF will invest 70 percent (Rs 1.33 billion) while remaining investment will be made by others. .

Tamakoshi-V, the fifth 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi Cascade Project, will not required construction of structures like dams and descender. Under the project, an 8 km tunnel, power house, 2 km 220 kV transmission line, among other infrastructures will be constructed.
