Nepse reaches all-time high at 3058.63 points, nine firms record positive circuit breaker

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed at 3,058.63 today, the highest index-closing in the history of Nepal’s capital market.

The index opened at 3,017.56 and did not trade at anywhere lower than that. It then closed at the intraday high, which is also the all-time high.

A total of 43,939,212 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs 14.232 billion in the turnover amount. This is higher than the previous trading sessions’ turnover of Rs 11.114 billion.

The float index is at 214.69 after gaining 4.52 points while the Sensitive index is at 574.02 after gaining 11.74 points.

Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) had the highest turnover of Rs 49.5 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 509 per share. The units of Laxmi Equity Fund (LEMF) traded the most.

A total of nine companies have hit the positive circuit breaker by gaining 10%, which is the highest permissible intraday gain for a stock.
