KATHMANDU: Mega Bank Nepal Limited has completed 11 years of operation and entered 12 years from today. Chairman of the bank Bhoj Bahadur Shah informed that a five-year strategic plan has been prepared for the next five years on the occasion of the 11th anniversary.
“We set up the bank with slogans and campaigns from ‘Halo to Hydro’. Accordingly, Mega Bank was established as the bank with the highest paid-up capital and shareholding,” said Shah, adding, “Embracing the same originality, we have formulated a strategy to take the bank forward in a new way.”
Shah informed that Mega Bank will launch a campaign in the coming days in collaboration with other organizations for the development, expansion and financial literacy of small and medium enterprises to create trade and employment in the country.
“Mega Bank plays a special role in creating self-employment and financial access for the youth and youths returning from foreign employment,” he informed.
The past 11 years have been a year of learning and achievement for Mega Bank and in the meantime, the bank has succeeded in creating a distinct identity and brand in the financial market, Shah mentioned.
Similarly, Anupama Khunjeli, CEO of Mega Bank, said that the Mega team has succeeded in making Mega Bank successful. Along with this, the continuous support and unwavering trust of the founders, shareholders, board of directors, customers, regulatory body, staff and stakeholders has played a crucial role in spreading glory of the bank.
“Embracing modernization and technology, Mega Bank is providing customers with the latest and most attractive digital banking services,” said Khunjeli, adding, “Given the current state of Covid-19, we plan to produce similar products, targeting customers, giving priority to digital banking and digitization.”
Mega Bank has managed to achieve business heights while reducing its operating expenses and cost of funds and providing loans to its customers at a single digit interest rate.
Mega Bank is providing various types of loans at cheap interest rates to the customers who are affected by the pandemic of Covid-19 and those who are preparing to expand their new business.
Established as the 28th commercial bank in the country, Mega Bank ranks sixth in terms of paid-up capital. By mid-2078, the total deposits of Mega Bank stood at around Rs. 145 billion and the total loans stood at around Rs. 141 billion.
Mega Bank is providing services to more than 1.24 million customers through its network of 178 branches, 137 ATMs, 33 extension counters and 71 branchless banking services spread across 58 districts across the country with more than 1700 employees. Soon 14 more branches of the bank will come into operation.
