PM Deuba at CNI’s AGM: Controlling Covid-19, a prerequisite to revive the economy

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that controlling Covid-19 is prerequisite to revive the economy and ensure its growth.

Addressing the 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Deuba said, “The private sector has extended support to the government in combating the crisis. Now the government will ensure that all people are vaccinated in time and give momentum to the economy.”

On the occasion, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government, along with ensure timely vaccination, will also bring in necessary relief packages to the private sector which is fighting the Covid-19.

CNI President Satish Kumar More said that the ‘Make in Nepal’ campaign of CNI aims at uplifting the country’s economy hit hard by the pandemic. “The Make in Nepal campaign will help build a self-reliant economy by promoting the production and consumption of indigenous goods and services,” said More.
