KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is preparing to face a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives today.
The first meeting of the reinstated House is is scheduled for 4pm today and Deuba is preparing to take vote of confidence today itself.
As per the COnstitution, a Prime Minister appointed in accordance with Article 76 (5) has to undergo a floor test in the parliament within a period of 30 days of his/her appointment. If Deuba is to continue his tenure, he must get majority votes on his side.
However, failure to draw confidence of majority of parliamentarians will make Deuba’s government as caretaker and and will have to dissolve the Parliament once again and announce fresh election.
