Govt releases Rs 5 billion to purchase Covid-19 vaccines

KATHMANDU: The government has released Rs 5 billion for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has provided additional funds to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) for the purchase of vaccines.

Newly-appointed Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, as his first decision after administering the office, took the decision and approved the budget for the purchase of vaccines.

Finance Minister Sharma has also arranged special risk allowance for the employees working in the health sector.

“Our first priority is and should be to purchase vaccines and save people’s lives,” said Sharma.
