KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order against the government’s preparations to export sand, stones and pebbles.
A joint bench of Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana, justices Mira Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki and Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha passed the order the government not to implement its decision to export stones, sand and pebbles.
Through the budget, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel had announced the government’s, plan to export sand, stones and pebbles in a bid to narrow down the trade deficit. However, the decision became subject to criticism from various quarters.
