KATHMANDU: The protest of fuel tanker operators has been called off after the government agreed to vaccinate fuel transporters against the Covid-19.
During the meeting held between Nepal Oil Corporation and (NOC) Nepal Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association, an agreement has been made to provide vaccine to the tanker drivers from Wednesday. “It has been agreed to vaccinate fuel transporters at APF Hospital, Balambu from Wednesday and we have withdrawn the agitation program,” said Ishwar Lama, president of the association.
As the result of drivers’ strike demanding Covid-19 vaccines for them as soon as possible, no tanker had supplied fuel to any fuel station in the Bagmati province that also includes the Kathmandu valley since last few days.
