KATHMANDU: Nepal has imported medicinal goods worth Rs 6.5 billion since the prohibitory orders were enforced in most parts of the country on April 29, as per the Department of Customs (DoC).
While Nepal imported pharmaceuticals worth Rs 4.96 billion, unprocessed medicinal goods costing Rs 1.5 billion were brought in from abroad since April end, shows DOC’s statistics.
Similarly, a significant quantity of other daily commodities including food grains, pulses, rice, salt, oil, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, essential petroleum products, diesel, petrol and cooking LP gas were also imported during that period time, the ministry said.
