Airline companies urge govt to resume domestic flights from June 15

KATHMANDU: The Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), umbrella organization representing domestic airline companies, has urged the government to resume domestic flights from June 15.

AOAN requested the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Uma Shankar Aragaria on Tuesday to resume domestic flights from the given date citing that restriction in operation of domestic flights for more than a month has hit airline companies and workers associated with it.

AOAN has stated that airline companies will operate the flights following effective health safety standards. “Airline companies are committed adopt scientific health standards to prevent spread of Covid-19 among passengers,” said AOAN.

The government has restricted domestic flights since May 4.
