KATHMANDU: Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari today said that banks were reluctant to provide loans against academic certificate as they see risk in recovery of such loans.
On top of that, Adhikari said that banks should be ready to bear the risk and implement the government’s decision to provide concessional loan at 5 percent interest against academic certificates.
“The government has given interest subsidy in this scheme through the budget. But banks are seeing problems in loan recovery which has made implementation of this scheme quite difficult,” said Adhikari while addressing a budget discussion program today.
