KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index gained a significant 29.55 points today and closed at 2,856.67.
This is the highest closing in the entire history of Nepse. The index opened at 2,843.83 and did not trade at anything lower than that. While it went as high as 2,874.77, it went down to 2,856.67 by the time the market closed today, which is still the all-time high closing in Nepse’s history.
The previous all-time high record was broken this Sunday when the index had closed at 2,827.93. 34,691,312 shares traded hands via 155,655 transactions. The trading of 218 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs 16.9 billion.
Nepal’s capital market had created the highest intraday turnover recorded in the history of Nepse of Rs 17.028 billion earlier this week.
