Cabinet approves budget for fiscal year 2021-22, sends for Prez authentication

KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers has approved the budget for the Fiscal Year 2078/79, which is being announced today.

A meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar approved the budget and sent it to the President for authentication.

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel is scheduled to make the budget public at 4 pm following authentication from the the President. Despite all-round protests, the government is releasing the budget for the coming fiscal year 2078/79 today through an ordinance.

Despite the constitutional provision that the budget should be presented in both the houses of parliament, the government is about to make the budget public through an ordinance.
