Valley CDOs meeting today: Prohibitory order expected to be extended by a week or two

KATHMANDU: Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur are scheduled to meet today to further extend the ongoing prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley.

As the Covid-19 infection rate is still high and showing no sign to decline, the CDOs meeting is expected to extend the ongoing prohibitory order by at a week or two.

Kathmandu Valley is under sort of lockdown since almost three weeks. The government has recently issued COVID-19 Risk Management Ordinance to check the pandemic. As provisioned in the ordinance, any individual who breaches the safety protocols enforced by the government in the federal capital may have to face a cash fine of up to Rs 500,000 and a jail term of one year.
