House of Representatives Dissolved, Election on November 12, 19

KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting sat on Friday midnight has dissolved the House of Representatives and decided to hold fresh election in two-phase: November 12 and 19.

Parbat Gurung, spokesperson of the government, informed that the government has decided to hold election for the new House of Representatives on November 12 and 19 and recommended the same to the President.

Though UML chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba had staked claim (at President’s Office) for the new government formation under their leadership citing that they both have majority parliamentarians, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that none of the two can be appointed the next PM.

Issuing a press statement Friday midnight, President Bhandari has pointed that both Oli and Deuba’s claims do not seem justified.

Following the decision to this effect, PM Oli had called for emergency midnight Cabinet.
