Partial lockdown, if required: Foreign Minister Gyawali

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has informed that the government is not in mood to impose lockdown across the country anytime soon.

Despite rising active cases of COVID-19, Gyawali said that focus is being given to enforce health rules strictly instead of shutting down the market.

“Lockdown will severely affect the economy as it did in the past. Lockdown is the last option and the government will not go for it immediately,” said Gyawali.

However, Gyawali said that the government will gradually impose partial lockdown across areas with dense active cases of COVID-19.
