SSF contributors to get 80% discount in hospital treatment from mid-July

KATHMANDU: Contributors in the Social Security Fund (SSF) will start getting discounts for treatment in different hospitals from mid-July onwards.

SSF informed that groundwork is being done to provide discount across different hospitals for those contributing in the fund to make SSF more effective.

So far, contributors in the fund used to get the payment claims only after submitting necessary bills. However, contributors to the fund will directly get discounts (up to 80 percent) from hospitals from mid-July onwards.

Under this scheme of SSF, contributors to the fund will have to pay only 20 percent for the treatment that costs up to Rs 100,000.

SSF has already inked agreements with various hospitals for this purpose. SSF has signed agreement with 105 hospitals across different province to execute the scheme: 20 hospitals in Province 1, 16 hospitals in Province 2, 20 hospitals in Bagmati Province, 8 hospitals in Gandaki Province, 14 hospitals in Lumbini Province, 10 hospitals in Karnali Province and 17 hospitals in Sudurpaschim Province.
