KATHMANDU: The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in its working mechanism from today. Implementation of the system aims at ending oil pilferage during supply and distribution of petroleum products.
The ERP system incorporates electronic cargo tracking module to check the leakages and possible adulteration in petroleum products during the distribution process, as per NOC.
As ERP software system integrates planning, purchasing inventory, sales, marketing, finance, and human resources, and supports real time tracking of the the entire fuel supply process, corporation’s managing director Surendra Kumar Poudel believed that implementation of ERP system is a boon to Nepal’s fuel trade and petroleum industry.
NOC has invested nearly Rs 250 million to develop the ERP system and implement it. This integrated information system will control day-to-day operations of the corporation’s provincial offices, depots, and departments throughout the country.
