Rs 82.29 billion worth refinancing loan issued in seven months

KATHMANDU: The central bank has released Rs 82.29 billion refinancing loan in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.

As per Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), these refinancing loan have been issued to facilitate businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NRB, through the Monetary Policy for 2020-21, had set aside around Rs 150 billion for refinancing facility to support businesses through banks and financial institutions. Under refinancing loans facility, BFIs can issue personal loans and business loans of up to Rs 50 million at a low interest rate of up to five percent.
