KATHMANDU: The government is set to test 5G service within the current fiscal year. Addressing the 23rd anniversary of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) on Thursday, NTA’s chairman Purshottam Khanal said that necessary spectrum has been allocated to use the 5G service within this fiscal year.
Similarly, Khanal informed that service providers will be given 5G frequency within next year.
On the occasion, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Parbat Gurung, said that 5G service should go commercial from next year as 4G service has already reached across all districts in the country.
“As competition is on rise, there is no option for domestic telecommunication industry to introduce 5G service as soon as possible,” he said.
