NRB asks govt to relax COVID-19 protocols for foreign tourists

KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has objected to the health protocol the government imposed on foreign tourists considering the COVID-19 risk.

As per the board, existing protocol affects Nepal’s image in the international market, and thus, the government should relax such provisions.

Mainly, the board has proposed to resume on-arrival visa service, PCR test requirement should be waived for the children below five years of age, tourists from other countries except India should undergo a PCR test after arriving in Nepal, and testing negative in it should allow them to travel freely without quarantine, those vaccinated against COVID-19 should not submit any test report, among others.
