FDI inflow down by 31pc in five months

Nepal to simplify foreign investment procedures

KATHMANDU: The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) has come down by 31 percent in the first five months of the current fiscal year.

As per statistics of the government, Nepal received Rs 4.5 billion worth FDI in the first five months of 2020-21 against Rs 6.56 billion FDI received during the same period of last fiscal year.

At a time when foreign investment is being affected globally due to the COVID-19, it has also affected FDI in Nepal, according to the NRB.
