Govt appeals for financial support for free COVID-19 vaccination

KATHMANDU: The government has called donor agencies, foreign governments, private institutions and capable individuals to support it financially to ensure free COVID-19 vaccines for all of its citizens.

Issuing a notice, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged donor agencies, individuals and institutions to deposit the money into the Rastriya Banijya Bank account belonging to the Financial Comptroller General Office Nepal.

The ministry assures the amounts deposited will be recorded and audited as per the government rules.

Earlier, the government had announced that COVID-19 vaccination will be provided free of cost to the people. However, the government is still uncertain on when will COVID-19 vaccines will arrive Nepal and with whom to purchase the vaccine.
