KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has banned pilots and cabin crew members from taking photos or videos during flights.
Recently, pilots and cabin crew members used to post videos taken during the flight on their personal YouTube channels. On the other hand, the cabin crew members have been making and posting many videos even on the TikTok. The CAAN has decided to stop taking photos and videos during the flight saying that it will affect the flight safety.
According to CAAN, such a ban has not been applied to passengers. Passengers will be able to take photos and videos on the flight, except in areas where inflight pilots and flight crews, authorities and the Government of Nepal have banned them. However, if the pilot and flight crew members do so, it is considered as a violation of CAAN’s directive.
According to the CAAN’s flight operation criteria, no pilot or crew member will be allowed to take photos and videos from the equipment. If one has to take video and photo, the person has to get the permission of the Director General of CAAN.
