KATHMANDU: Banks and financial institutions (BFIs) can now charge fees on interbank ATM transactions from January 14.
Issuing a circular on Thursday, the Nepal Rastra Bank has allowed BFIs to charge fees on more than two interbank ATM transactions in a given month.
The central had made the inter-bank AGM transaction free during the lockdown period. Now the BFIs can charge Rs 20 per transaction for more than two such transactions.
BFIs will need to provide prior information to its customers before levying charges on the different electronic banking services.
BFIs will need to ensure that their customers can reset passwords for their electronic banking services on their own when need be.
