Power tripping reduced, there is no load-shedding: NEA

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has said that problem regarding electricity tripping has been addressed and there is no power cut anymore.

As per NEA, Kathmandu Valley faced electricity tripping for 347 times in the Month of Mangsir. As 14 substations faced electricity tripping, electricity supply had been disturbed for 22 hours, as per NEA.

Hitendra Man Shakya, acting managing director of NEA, informed that there is no any official, unofficial loand-shedding as rumors in the market. Shakya said that the power supply to the surrounding area may have been cut for some time due to technical reasons including damage to the underground cable due to expansion of roads and drinking water pipes and removal of poles and transformers in some installations.
