KATHMANDU: A government study has shown that cooperatives across the country are providing direct employment to about 88,309 people.
The study carried by the Department of Cooperatives has shown that 88,309 people have got direct employment in about 30,000 cooperatives spread across the country.
Similarly, the report also states that about Rs 478 billion has been collected in these cooperatives while these cooperatives have invested Rs 426.26 billion across various sectors.
As per the report, 7.3 million people are members to these cooperatives. Out of the total members, 56 percent are female and 44 percent are male.
