KATHMANDU: Though the country had been free from years long load-shedding some three years ago, power cut has become frequent in recent weeks. This has worried the public and the industrial sector lately.
Today, majority of places in Kathmandu Valley is entangling frequent power cut every day which has worried them.
“End of load-shedding is one of the greatest achievement of the country in the past few years and smooth electricity has boosted industrial efficiency and production. However, frequent power cuts in recent days is worrying us,” informed an industrialist.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) said that there would not be load-shedding and it has already become a history. “Recent power cut is due to power tripping and will be addressed gradually. Few groups are intentionally promoting the idea that the country is again entering the load-shedding age. This is false,” informed Hitendra Dev Shakya, acting managing director of NEA.
