KATHMANDU: The Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) has reduced the commission that broker companies are taking from investors in securities trading.
Overall, the board has reduced the commission rate charged by brokers by 33 percent.
Until now, brokers have been taking 0.40 percent to 0.6 percent commission from investors while buying and selling shares. Now, the maximum commission that brokers can take has been reduced by 33 percent from 0.268 to 0.402 percent.
Brokers are obliged to charge 0.40 percent up to the transaction amount of Rs 50,000, 0.37 percent up to the amount greater than Rs 50,000 but less than Rs. 500,000.
Similarly, amount higher than Rs 500,000 and less than Rs 2,000,000 will be charged 0.34 percent while 0.30 percent will be charged to amount greater than Rs 2,000,000 but less than Rs 10,000,000.
