PM Oli recommends holding general election on May 6 next year

KATHMANDU: Following the decision of the Cabinet meeting today to dissolve the Parliament, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has recommended holding the general election on May next year.

Oli has visited President’s residence Sital Niwas with recommendation to dissolve the parliament and hold election on aforementioned date.

Oli’s move is likely to be challenged in the court as constitutional experts have been saying that the constitution does not have a provision for the dissolution of parliament under current circumstances.
