Govt forms Advertisement Board to regulate advertising sector

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a autonomous Advertisement Board to regulate country’s advertisement board.

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) today appointed Subha Shankar Kandel, Mahendra Bahadur Sherchan, Balaram Thapa, Chandra Neupane and Bandana Danuwar as members of the board.

The Advertisement Board, beside regulating the advertisement industry, will also effectively implement the newly introduced Clean Feed Policy.

Meanwhile, the government is yet to appoint chairman of the board. “The Minister level meeting today appointed members of the board and the chairman will be appointed through open competition soon,” informed Sangeeta Ojha, under secretary at MoICT.
