KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that the private sector should come out with proper economy recovery plan.
Addressing the 54th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today, Oli said, “FNCCI with its glorious history has led Nepal’s development and economic growth. Today, the economy has been hot badly by the COVID-19. I believe that this AGM of FNCCI will come out with concrete economic recovery plan and its development.”
As per him, it is high time for the government and the private sector to collaborate and trace out ways to give proper track to the economy and industrial growth. “We had expected the economy to grow at 8.5 percent last year. But due to COVID-19, we could not achieve the estimated growth rate. However, our economy has not faced negative growth like different other countries,” he said.
Similarly, Oli also said that the government will support the private sector and businesses affected by COVID-19. “However, our support to the private sector will be limited as the government has limited resources,” added Oli.
