The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has identified suitable land in the forest at Godavari Municipality-8, Syaule of Kailali for the construction of a 90-day fuel storage facility in the far-western region.
NOC stated that the process has been started for the acquisition of public land as directed by the government and the parliamentary committee to find and acquire the land required for the fuel storage in line with the Land Acquisition Act.
Chittaranjan Das, head of the Far Western Regional Office of the NOC, said that the land in Kailali is suitable for the construction of a oil storage facility.
The land is under the local Shiv Shakti Women’s Community Forest Committee. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekh Raj Bhatt, executive director of NOC Surendra Kumar Poudel and chairman of the Forest Committee Hira Shahil inspected the land on Sunday.
Poudel, executive director of the corporation, said that the land was suitable during the inspection and NOC would soon start further process to develop the storage facility in the region.
