KATHMANDU: A petition has been filed in the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, demanding to stop the election of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
Shiva Shankar Shah, president of FNCCI Province 2 filed the petition on Thursday demanding to stop the election citing that the election announced by the current FNCCI leadership which has already completed its tenure is against the FNCCI statute.
FNCCI is scheduled to hold its 54th annual general meeting and election from November 26.
Though the tenure of the current executive committee of FNCCI has been completed months back, election for the new executive committee was delayed due to the spread of COVID-19. The petitioner has stated in the writ that any decisions taken by the executive committee that has already completed its tenure cannot be authentic.
