NOC to develop 10,000 KL diesel storage facility in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation is preparing to build a 10,000 kiloliter diesel storage facility in Pokhara in a bid to boost fuel storage facility in the country.

The corporation is investing almost Rs 770 million for the project. “Construction of two diesel storage tanks, each of 5,000 kiloliter capacity, will start in Pokhara from next week,” informed Surendra Poudel, executive director of NOC, adding that the storage facility is being developed to ease supply of diesel in Pokhara and regions nearby it.

Construction of 10,000 kiloliter diesel storage tanks in Pokhara will ensure fuel storage capacity that can cater the demand in the region for 40 days, as per NOC.

As per NOC, petroleum products from Pokhara depots is supplied to nearby regions including Mustang, Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Kaski, Tanahu and Syangja, among others.
