KATHMANDU: Investors have officially asked Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) to bring down brokerage commission.
Citing that the work of brokers have decreased after the share trading went online and investors have been buying and selling shares themselves, investors have appealed SEBON to reduce the commission charged by stock brokers as soon as possible.
“We have send a letter to SEBON citing the need to bring down commission being charged by stock brokers,” informed Chote Lal Rauniyar, president of Nepal Investors Forum.
SEBON Chairman Bhishma Raj Dhungana said that the issue would be resolved only after holding discussions between both the brokers and investors. “We will take long-term decisions in a way that satisfies everyone by discussing with the stakeholders. A committee has been formed to review the brokerage commission,” informed Dhungana.
