KATHMANDU: Deposits among banks and financial institutions (BFIs) have increased by 18.7 percent.
The share of current, saving and fixed deposits in the total deposits of BFIs stood at 7.5 percent, 32.6 percent and 50.9 percent respectively in Bhadra (mid August-mid September). Share of current, saving and fixed deposits in overall deposit was 7.9, 32.5 and 48.3 percent respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The share of institutional deposits in BFIs stood at 43.2 percent in mid-September against 44.6 percent in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
The total deposits of banks and financial institutions have increased to Rs 39.33 billion till mid-September this year compared to Rs 33.31 billion deposits collected in the corresponding period of the previous year.
