KATHMANDU: A team led by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Chairman of the Domestic Industry Development Committee has conducted a site observation of Bhudatarin Bandipur Rural Municipality 1 of Tanahu to set up an industrial estate.
According to the municipality’s Chairperson, Bhanubhakta Pokhrel, the site observation was conducted as the location was recommended as suitable for establishing an industrial estate as per the government’s policy of ‘One municipality, one industrial village’.
Pokharel said the federal government has allocated Rs 10 million to establish the industrial village in the current fiscal year. He mentioned that an area consisting of 50 ropanis of public land has been identified for the purpose in Bhudatar.
The government has introduced the ‘One municipality, one industrial village’ program in order to integrate and manage small scale industries that are scattered in various places. The government has set a criterion that for industrial villages in mountainous and remote areas 30 ropanis of land is necessary. Similarly, for hilly regions it is four ropanis and for the terai region seven bighas of land is must for establishing an industrial village.
