Hong Kong suspends NAC operation for two weeks

KATHMANDU: Hong Kong has suspended the service of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)for two weeks after six passengers on board one of its flights tested positive for the coronavirus infection.

According to NAC Spokesperson, Archana Khadka, the concerned passengers had boarded the flight with negative PCR report in Nepal but were found to be positive in Hong Kong. She mentioned that only passengers with PCR negative report are allowed to board flights in Nepal.

Khadka further stressed that only passengers who have conducted the PCR test within 72 hours of boarding time and have a negative report are allowed to travel from Nepal to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong revoked the flight permission of NAC for two weeks starting from October 4 after six passengers tested positive for the virus. Now, the airline will be able to resume its service from October 17.

A total of 11 people were found to be positive in Hong Kong on Monday among which six passengers had landed in the destination on NAC’s flight RA 4099 on October 3.
