KATHMANDU: The meeting of the executive committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Friday decided to organize the organization’s annual general meeting and election on November 26 and 27.
The decision was made based on the recommendation of a special committee that was formed to resolve the dispute among its members regarding the organization’s 54th AGM and election of the new executive committee.
FNCCI had initially planned to hold its 54th AGM on April 10 and 11. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic halted the plan and later the AGM date was shifted to August 10 and 11. However, FNCCI could not hold the AGM even in August after the coronavirus cases continued to surge.
As the tenure of the current executive committee has already been completed, industrialists and FNCCI members have been pressurizing the FNCCI leadership to hold the election as soon as possible.
