KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration (DoI) has resumed all visa services from today.
Earlier on August 10, DoI had halted all visa services until further notice after one of its employees was diagnosed with Covid-19. Since then except for emergency services and services being provided from Tribhuvan International Airport, all other services were halted.
As most of the staffs have been quarantined, DoI is resuming all services from today, informed Ram Chandra Tiwari, information officer of DoI.
He further said that people whose visa validity has been expired can renew their visa without any delay charges until September 27. In case of foreign nationals having valid visa up to March 21 and departing within 15 days from the resume date of international flights, the visa will be regulated without any charges at immigration offices at the time of their departure.
Similarly, in case of foreign nationals having valid tourist visa up to March 21, however, unable to get back to their countries within 15 days from the resume date of international flights due to various reasons, the visa will be regulated maximum up to December 15 but with the regular tourist visa fee.
